Soul Art Resin Workshop - Melbourne - November date TBC
"Soul Art" is a 1 and a half day resin art and meditation workshop hosted by myself and my partner Callum. Absolutely no artistic experience is required just an open mind and fun loving nature! Although the spiritual part may sound a bit "woo woo" to some, we can assure you this is for anyone who has a desire to create their own work of art and be guided through meditations!
Creativity like resin art does not come from the analytical mind it comes from getting the mind out the way, trusting your intuition and letting it flow out of you.
The best way I have found to do this is through meditations which Callum (who is an energy healer) will guide you through.
You will pick a theme for your art work and decide what feeling or emotion you want your art to be about. For example you might pick a feeling such as love or joy and see what colours you are drawn to for these emotions.
Natalie will demonstrate step by step how to create a piece of resin art and then you will get to work on creating your own with me on hand for guidance.
Materials provided will be a wooden board which acts as your canvas, resin, all supplies and pigments. Also please note we will be using a chefs blow torch which is done at your own risk!
Resin art is messy!!! Please bring along some old clothes you can get changed into (you won't want to go home in clothes with resin on!).
We will start the day by preparing your wooden art board with a bottom coat of paint.
Callum and I will talk about meditation and creativity to get ideas flowing for your own artwork. This is a chance to have an open forum discussion about ideas that you have for your artwork. Natalie will then do a demonstration showing you step by step how to create a resin artwork.
After lunch Callum will guide us through a mediation and you will listen to his "light language" energy blessing. For those who are open to it you can receive an energy healing.
From this creative meditation you will then create your own resin artwork! Everyone will be partnered up and you will create your art one at a time in each pair. This is to allow you to help each other (as things can get quite messy!) and so Natalie can give as much help as needed.
Resin takes 24 hours to touch dry so we leave overnight for you to collect
You get to come in and see the results!
You will pull the tape from the back of the wooden boards and learn about the best ways to hang and take care of your new artwork.
Another guided meditation lead by Callum.
Goodbyes and photos taken!
